Lath Strips or Divider Strips
A variety of manufacturers require strips of material to separate
the layers of products to prevent the items from rubbing together
causing damage. Some of the common divider strips KOR produces are:
Virtually any size can be custom manufactured.
Contact KOR today for all your Recycled Packaging needs. Proper
stacking of lumber is essential when preparing lifts of lumber for
transportation. When stacking the lumber in layers, spacers called
lath are positioned 18 or 24 inches apart along the length of the
pile. Lath must be uniform in size for the lifts to be stable and
tightly strapped. This is where KOR’s fiber lath is an innovative
and effective solution for lumber mills.
KOR manufactures lath from recycled sheets of chipboard and solid
fiber that vary in thickness according to client’s needs. Current
clients use standard sizes such as: 1" X 48", 1-1/2" X 44", 1" X
42", 3/4 X 52. KOR can custom cut fiber lath for each individual
client. Typically, truckload quantities constitute 20 pallets, with
150 bundles per pallet, 100 pieces per bundle for a total of 300,000
pieces per truckload.
SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF FIBER LATH
Uniform width, length, and thickness for every piece, considered
machine grade lath.
No cracking, checking, splitting, or breaking that occurs with wood
lath.
Pliable enough that pieces protruding from a lift will not tear
lumber wrap.
More pieces per pallet means less transportation cost as more lath
per truckload.
Less storage area required on site due to more pieces per pallet.
Environmentally better, as no trees need to be cut down to produce
lath.
More economical as fiber lath costs less than wood lath.
Retail lumber outlets are able to dispose of lath with their
cardboard recycling.
KOR has both the expertise and the access to raw materials to
fulfill the role of a national supplier. |
